Adding Hopper Connection Through rezStream Channels, Powered by Channex

Before You Begin

Before creating the connection in rezStream Cloud, your property must have an active account and agreement with Hopper.

Hotels and Resorts Only

This connection is designed for Hopper Hotels and supports hotels and resorts.

Vacation rental properties, such as apartments and villas, are not supported through this Hopper connection and may require a different Hopper integration.

How Hopper Pays Your Property

Hopper pays properties for reservations using a Virtual Credit Card (VCC).

Commission and payment terms are established directly between your property and Hopper as part of your agreement.

Create the Hopper Channel in rezStream Cloud

Step 1 – Create the Hopper Channel

Once Hopper has completed your account setup:

1. In rezStream Cloud, navigate to Integrations > rezStream Channels.
2. From the Channels tab, click Create.
3. Complete the following:
   • Channel: Select Hopper.
   • Title: Enter your property name followed by Hopper, such as Property Name – Hopper.
   • Currency: Leave this set to Auto, or select a different currency if needed.

Under Connection Settings, choose how length-of-stay restrictions should be applied:

• Arrival: The restriction applies when the guest’s arrival date falls on the restricted date.
• Through: The restriction applies when any night of the stay falls on the restricted date.

Arrival is selected by default.

Step 2 – Test the Connection

Click Test Connection after entering your connection settings.

If the connection is successful, you can continue to the Mapping tab.

If you receive an error, confirm that Hopper has completed your property setup and that all required agreements are in place.

Step 3 – Map Rooms and Rate Plans

Select the Mapping tab at the top of the page.

Map the appropriate rezStream Units or Unit Types to Hopper and select the Rate Plans Hopper will be allowed to sell.

When appropriate, we recommend keeping your rate mapping simple and mapping your Best Available Rate.

Make sure all applicable rooms and rate plans are mapped before continuing. 

Step 4 – Configure Channel Settings

Select the Channel Settings tab.

Here, you can increase or decrease the rates sent to Hopper using either:

• A fixed dollar amount
• A percentage

Whether a rate adjustment is needed depends on the Net or Gross pricing model established in your Hopper agreement.

Net Pricing

With a Net pricing model, the rate sent to Hopper does not include Hopper's commission.

For example, if your standard rate is $100 and your Hopper agreement specifies a 15% commission, you would send Hopper a net rate of $85.

In this example, you could configure Channel Settings with a 15% rate decrease.

Gross Pricing

With a Gross pricing model, you send Hopper the full commissionable rate.

For example, if your standard rate is $100, you would send Hopper the full $100 rate, with commission handled according to the terms of your Hopper agreement.

A commission-related rate adjustment in Channel Settings typically would not be necessary in this scenario.

Step 5 – Save and Activate the Connection

Once your setup is complete:

1. Click Save at the bottom of the page.
2. If Save and Activate is available, you can select it to activate the connection immediately.
3. If you only see Save, return to the Channels tab.
4. Locate Hopper, select Actions > Activate.
5. Once the channel is active, select Actions > Full Sync to send your current rates and availability to Hopper.

Step 6 – Set the Reservation Source

After activating the connection:

1. Click the Gear icon near the top-right of the rezStream Channels page.
2. Open the Channel Mappings tab.
3. Select the appropriate Source for Hopper.
4. Save your changes.

Reservations received through Hopper will now be associated with the selected source.

Need to Create a Hopper Source?

If Hopper is not available as a source:

1. Navigate to Configuration > Source of Contact and Reason for Stay.
2. Select the Sources tab.
3. Click Add New Source.
4. Create a Hopper source and save your changes.
5. Return to Integrations > rezStream Channels > Gear icon > Channel Mappings.
6. Select the new Hopper source and save.

You're Ready to Go

Once the connection is active, mapped, synced, and assigned a reservation source, rezStream Cloud is ready to exchange reservation, rate, and availability information with Hopper based on your configured connection.
