Extended Rates

An Extended Rate allows you to charge a flat rate for a set period of time, such as a full week, instead of charging a nightly rate. Use this guide to create, configure, and manage Extended Rates in rezStream Cloud.

Creating an Extended Rate

 Follow these steps to create an Extended Rate in rezStream Cloud: 

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Rate Plans. 

  2. Select the Rate Plan where you want to add the Extended Rate. 

  3. Click Add a Rate.

    1. Set the Rate Type to Extended.

    2. Important: The Rate Type cannot be changed after the rate is created.



  4. Complete the remaining rate information, then click Save.

Extended Rate Seasons

Extended Rate seasons include a few additional settings compared to Daily Rates. However, they are simpler to manage because each season has one Extended Rate, rather than up to seven rates available with a Daily Rate.

  • Rate: Enter the total price for the entire extended stay.
  • Period Length in Days: Enter the total number of days included in the Extended Rate.
  • Closed to Arrival / Closed to Departure: Select which days guests can arrive and depart. For example, to require a Saturday-to-Saturday stay, restrict arrivals and departures accordingly.

Allow Extra Days: Toggle to Yes to allow guests to extend their stay beyond the specified Period Length. You can also set optional Minimum Extra Days and Maximum Extra Days to control how many additional days can be booked. 

Extended Rate Season Settings

Extended Rate Seasons include the following settings:

  1. Name: An optional name to help identify the season, similar to Daily Rate Seasons.
  2. Promo Code: Restricts access to the season to guests who enter the specified promo code in the Booking Engine.
  3. Start Date: The date the Extended Rate Season takes effect.
  4. Rate: The total amount charged for the full Period Length (for example, 7 days or 3 days).
  5. Base Capacity: The number of guests included in the rate before additional guest charges apply.
  6. Period Length in Days: The number of days included in one full rate period.
  7. Minimum Length of Stay: The minimum number of nights required to book the season.
  8. Maximum Length of Stay: The maximum number of nights that can be booked.
  9. Extra [Guest Type]: The amount charged for each additional guest above the Base Capacity.
  10. Closed to Arrival: Select the days of the week when guests cannot arrive.
  11. Closed to Departure: Select the days of the week when guests cannot depart.
  12. Allow Extra Days: Determines whether guests can book additional days beyond a full Period Length.
  13. Extra Day Rate: The amount charged for each additional day beyond the full period. For example, with a 7-day period, this rate would apply beginning on day 8.
  14. Extra [Guest Type] – Extra Days: The additional guest charge that applies to extra days beyond the full period.
  15. Minimum Extra Days: The minimum number of additional days that must be booked beyond the last full period.
  16. Maximum Extra Days: The maximum number of additional days that can be booked beyond the last full period.

Note: If Allow Extra Days is disabled but departure days remain open, a stay can extend beyond the Period Length. However, the guest will be charged the full Period Rate for the additional period rather than an Extra Day Rate.

Important: Extended Rates are not compatible with OTAs, including direct Booking.com connections or connections through rezStream Channels.

Extended Rates on the Occupancy Map

Units that use an Extended Rate as their default rate display a Length indicator at the bottom of each day on the Occupancy Map.

The number indicates the Period Length in Days, while the arrow icon shows that the full period must be selected for the Extended Rate to apply.

 

Extended Rates on the Booking Engine

Extended Rates can be booked directly through the Booking Engine. If a guest’s selected dates do not meet the Extended Rate requirements, the applicable restrictions will be displayed.

Rate details reflect the actual amount charged for the stay. If enabled in your Booking Engine settings, the average nightly rate will also be displayed.

Invoicing

For Extended Rate reservations, the full rate amount is applied to the first night of the reservation on the invoice.
