This can be especially helpful when a specific unit has unique details, such as location information, arrival instructions, or other information guests need to know. Alternate Descriptions can also be included in confirmation letters using the appropriate letter code.
When the letter code is added to a confirmation, the Alternate Description for the unit booked will automatically display.
Please note: Alternate Descriptions are available for individual units only and do not apply to Unit Types.
How to Add an Alternate Description
- Navigate to the unit you want to update and select the unit by clicking on Configuration --> Units.
- Select Description.
- Scroll to the Alternate Description section at the bottom of the page.
- Enter the information you’d like included for that unit.
- Click Save Unit in the upper-right corner.
Using Alternate Descriptions in Confirmations
rezStream does not currently support sending different confirmation letters based on the unit or rate plan. However, Alternate Descriptions can be used to include unit-specific information within the same confirmation letter.
Once the Alternate Descriptions have been added to the applicable units, the corresponding letter code can be added to the Booking Engine confirmation. This will automatically populate the Alternate Description associated with the unit the guest booked.
