How rezStream Cloud Sends Email

Email providers like Google and Yahoo have implemented stricter rules around email authentication and spam protection. Because of these changes, rezStream Cloud has updated how we send email on behalf of our customers. The goal is to make sure your messages are delivered reliably without requiring complicated technical setup.

How Email Sending Worked Before

rezStream Cloud now sends guest communications using a built-in email setup that requires no DNS configuration. Your business name appears in the sender field, replies are forwarded to your address automatically, and — if you own your domain — you can optionally configure your own FROM address with help from rezStream Support.

In the past, rezStream Cloud placed your business’s email address in the FROM field when sending guest communications.

For this to work smoothly, the receiving email system (like Gmail or Outlook) had to verify that your email address was valid. That required you, as the domain owner, to update special DNS records for your domain.

This created two challenges:

  • Technical complexity: Many customers found updating DNS records difficult.

  • Non-owned domains: Customers using free addresses (like Gmail or Outlook.com) could not update DNS at all, which often caused deliverability problems.

The New Approach

rezStream Cloud now uses a built-in email setup that requires no technical configuration. Your business name appears clearly in the sender field, guest replies are automatically forwarded to your business email address, and no extra steps are needed on your part.

  • No DNS changes required from you.
  • Your business name appears in the sender field so guests recognize your emails.
  • Guest replies are automatically forwarded to your actual business email address.

If a guest replies, their response is automatically forwarded to your business’s actual email address. Everything works seamlessly without any extra steps.

Example:

The Glinsek Resort <TheGlinsekResort.00027599@reservation.email>

What if I want to send from my own domain?

If your business owns and manages its own domain (example: info@mycabins.com), rezStream can configure the system so your business email address shows directly in the FROM field.

To enable this option, you’ll need to add specific DNS records to your domain.

rezStream's Support team can provide step-by-step instructions and guide you through the entire setup process. Contact our Support team whenever you are ready to get started.
