How rezStream Cloud Sends Email
Email providers like Google and Yahoo have implemented stricter rules around email authentication and spam protection. Because of these changes, rezStream Cloud has updated how we send email on behalf of our customers. The goal is to make sure your messages are delivered reliably without requiring complicated technical setup.
How Email Sending Worked Before
In the past, rezStream Cloud placed your business’s email address in the FROM field when sending guest communications.
For this to work smoothly, the receiving email system (like Gmail or Outlook) had to verify that your email address was valid. That required you, as the domain owner, to update special DNS records for your domain.
This created two challenges:
-
Technical complexity: Many customers found updating DNS records difficult.
-
Non-owned domains: Customers using free addresses (like Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, or Outlook) could not update DNS at all, which often caused deliverability problems.
The New Approach
To make email delivery simpler and more reliable, rezStream Cloud now uses a built-in email setup that requires no technical configuration on your part.
Your business name will still appear clearly in the sender field, so guests can easily recognize the email as coming from you.
If a guest replies, their response is automatically forwarded to your business’s actual email address. Everything works seamlessly without any extra steps.
Example:The Glinsek Resort <TheGlinsekResort.00027599@reservation.email>
What if I want to send from my own domain?
If your business owns and manages its own domain (example: info@mycabins.com), rezStream can configure the system so your business email address shows directly in the FROM field.
To enable this option, you’ll need to add specific DNS records to your domain. rezStream's Support team can provide step-by-step instructions and guide you through the setup, just reach out when you’re ready to get started.
